competence in written and spoken English appropriate to a teacher of English (IELTS 7.5 + in all sub-skills or equivalent)
an awareness of the significance of the structure and functions of English in teaching the language
the willingness to work cooperatively as a member of the group and respond constructively to feedback
the potential for combined study including language analysis and practical training that is rigorous and demanding of time, energy and emotional stamina
Use of English and language awareness will be assessed during the application interview, along with interpersonal skills, classroom presence, and professionalism.

Applicants should ideally score in the mid-90s in both sections, placing them at about IELTS 7.5/8 or C1/C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international standard for describing language ability.

We normally recommend a minimum of three weeks to work through this
If the application form and pre-interview task meet the required standards, you will be offered a face-to-face or Skype interview, which can take up to an hour and a half. We will discuss the nature of the course, its components and assignments, the various forms of assessment, and the principal challenges that trainees encounter. Your use of English and language awareness will be assessed during the interview, as well as interpersonal skills, classroom presence, and professionalism.
Confirmation and payment
You will be informed of the outcome of the interview within a week.
You need to confirm your acceptance via email and pay a deposit (the amount will be stated on your acceptance letter) to secure your place.
Once payment is received, you will be sent the Course Handbook and the Starter Pack, which you should complete before the start of the course.
