The Trinity CertTESOL is an internationally recognized qualification for teachers of English all over the world. It is accredited at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in the UK (the same as CELTA).
It is registered with the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation as a course leading to a Non-local Higher Qualification and recognised by the British Council and language centres in HK and internationally.
The CertTESOL is an intensive one month program (full time) or three month program (part time) with a distance pre-course task of 25 hours and 130 hours face-to-face training. Trainees are also required to plan lessons and complete assignments in the evenings and at weekends. Train The Teacher has also now developed the unique Trinity College London Blended CertTESOL course, which combines online tutorials together with an intensive face to face component in the latter part of the course.
The course caters for experienced teachers as well as those who are new to teaching, and meets the TEFL qualification requirements of the Hong Kong Education Bureau NET scheme in terms of content and assessed teaching practice.
Train The Teacher is Hong Kong’s paramount international training team, and had exclusive responsibility for the academic running of the Trinity CertTESOL with English for Asia (EfA) from 2006 to October of 2014.
During the time the trainers ran the course at EfA, they grew its reputation and popularity with numbers mushrooming from some 4 courses per year and a total of 40 trainees to 11 courses per year and approximately 100 trainees per year. Fusion Teaching and Train The Teacher ceased to have a cooperation with EfA in November 2014, and moved their teacher training to a new partner, The Edge Learning Center, with whom they stayed until April 2019.
Train The Teacher has now responded to Hong Kong’s high costs and small rooms with a uniquely designed, written and delivered blended online and face to face Trinity CertTESOL, for teachers of adults and young learners in China.
This course represents a unique new generation Trinity CertTESOL, with huge advantages for trainees:
higher quality material made fully available online
more targeted input for younger learners
more targeted input for adult learners
engaging online tutorials
reduced face to face time
significantly lower fees.
Through a proven track record and a large network, they have a strong reputation both locally and internationally for their academic knowledge, professional standards, interactive inputs, dedication and trainee support. The Train The Teacher team is very proud to continue its tradition of attention to standards and academic attention with its new partners in its new ventures.
Trainees can expect that doing the Trinity CertTESOL with Train The Teacher will open doors to quality contracts and opportunities in Hong Kong, China and beyond.

The Trinity CertTESOL : An Introduction
The Blended Trinity CertTESOL in mainland China
Train The Teacher held their first Trinity College London CertTESOL outside of Hong Kong in China in October 2017, with a further course 2018. The 2018 course was held part-time over several months, and had the unique advantage of offering trainees teaching skills for adults and young learners.
From December 2018 to April 2019, TTT ran the Trinity CertTESOL in Shanghai for the second time, but with a unique twist: this was the first ever blended Trinity CertTESOL programme ever run in China, with a combination of online learning (reading, video tasks, assignment submissions and tutorials) and two face-to-face components, one of which included a 6-hour practicum of observed, assessed teaching practice for young learners and adults.
The structure of the modular online programme made it possible for teachers working full-time to take the course, and will no doubt suit many working professionals who wish to enrol but cannot take 4 weeks off work to do the course full-time, and for whom the part-time schedule is not suitable.
